Offering more than one free gift or tiered gifts

Want to give away more than one gift, or bigger gifts at higher spend levels? Here's how to set that up.

How a campaign hands out gifts

Each campaign adds one free gift to the cart, at a quantity of one. If a customer changes the gift quantity or adds a second gift from the same campaign, the app trims it back to one.

You can still offer a choice inside a campaign:

  • One product with variants (size, color, flavor): select the variants you want to offer.
  • Several different products: select each product as a gift option.

Turn on Show Pop-up for gift selection in the campaign's Pop-up Settings so the customer can pick. With the pop-up off, the app adds the first available gift option automatically, without asking.

Only gift options that are available to buy are shown. See What happens when gifts sell out.

Two (or more) gifts in one order

Run one campaign per gift, with the same trigger.

Example: Spend $100, get a tote bag AND a sticker pack.

  1. Campaign 1: trigger Cart total reaches a certain amount, minimum $100, gift is the tote bag
  2. Campaign 2: trigger Cart total reaches a certain amount, minimum $100, gift is the sticker pack

When the cart reaches $100, the customer qualifies for both campaigns and gets both gifts.

If both campaigns use the pop-up, the customer sees them one after the other.

Tip: use Duplicate in the campaign list to copy a campaign, then change the gift.

Tiered gifts (a gift ladder)

Run one campaign per tier, each with its own minimum cart price.

Example:

  • Campaign 1: spend $75, choose a gift from Group A
  • Campaign 2: spend $150, choose a gift from Group B

Good to know: tiers stack. A customer who reaches $150 also qualifies for the $75 tier, so they get a gift from both. If that's what you want (spend more, get more), you're done.

The cart total used for each tier leaves out the free gifts themselves, so adding a gift never pushes a cart into the next tier.

"Choose only one" across tiers

If you want customers who reach a higher tier to get only the higher-tier gift, not both, that isn't a built-in setting.

Our support team can set it up for your store with a small theme change. Open the chat in Promo Party Pro and tell us your tiers.

The same goes for rules like "pick exactly one from Group A and one from Group B." Chat with us and we'll tell you what's possible for your store.

Discount combinations with several campaigns

All Promo Party Pro campaigns share one automatic discount in Shopify. If any running campaign has a Discount Combinations box checked, the shared discount allows that combination for every campaign. Set the same boxes on all campaigns that run together so there are no surprises.

See How different discounts combine.

Test before you launch

  • Add items to your cart to reach each threshold and check that the right gifts appear.
  • Check that every gift shows as free at checkout.
  • If customers use discount codes, test with a code applied too.

See Testing your promotion for a full checklist.
